About Sam
Sam is a Chicago-based designer and second-generation furniture maker. He is the co-founder and CEO of 57st. design. He helped architect 57st. design’s award-winning circular furniture service, Design Circulation. His furniture work focuses on simple, utilitarian forms, with an emphasis on integrity of construction.
More broadly, he’s interested in the relationship between design, business, and manufacturing, and is especially interested in what—if any—ethical obligations bind the designer, consumer, and the means of production.
